Presented at the National Museum of Natural History in Budapest (Hungary), exhibition K\u00e1pr\u00e1zatos K\u00f6vek <\/em> (Wonderful Gems) displayed more than 150,000 carats of cut precious stones (surpassing the exhibition held at the same time in Valencia).<\/p>\n

Visitors were introduced to all species of gemstones existing in nature. They learned about the crystal\u00b4s life: beginning with its formation and extraction, passing through cut and its industrial application. Videos and interactive presentations enabled learning process, for example, a big map of gemological world showing major deposits of gemstones and precious metals.<\/p>\n

This exhibition, requested by the Hungarian government, was an important part in the celebration of Hungary’s entry into the European Union. The opening ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Andr\u00e1s Boz\u00f3ki, was attended by high-ranking officials from Government and Administration, as well as numerous Hungarian personalities and the diplomatic corps in Budapest.
